10/9/2013 Public Notice - Downtown Christmas Lights

From: Ric Maxfield Assistant Fire Chief, Harrodsburg Fire Department

I am following up with business owners, governmental agencies, churches, and private residents who had roof top displays in and around downtown Harrodsburg as part of the Christmas light display from years past.

The displays may be the old bulb style or newer rope lighting systems.  Recently, we found that some of the old equipment / lighting / wiring was still in place and connected to the electrical distribution system on the buildings.

If you had a display, please check to see that the lighting has been removed, unplugged or otherwise disconnected from the electrical distribution system of your facility.  If you are unsure about the status of the light display on your building, please contact your certified and licensed electrician or building maintenance personnel.

If you have any further questions, please contact me at the Harrodsburg Fire Department.

Thank you for your time,

Ric Maxfield
